| Michiana Eye Center & Facial Plastic Surgery offers a wide range of different exams to detect and diagnosis each patient's eye care needs. Our trained technicians perform the preliminary testing using diagnostic equipment designed specifically for optical exams. The exam determines information in areas such as: Auto K's/Refraction, Spectacle Prescription Verification, Case history, Visual Acuity, External examination, Visual acuity.
The information gathered is useful for the Doctor to complete the exam. Preliminary portion of the doctor's evaluation include: Retinoscopy, Refraction, Slit lamp/ biomicroscopy examination Applanation tonometry, Dilating drops are then instilled to prepare for retinal examination, Central retinal examination, and Peripheral retinal examination. Michiana Eye Center & Facial Plastic Surgery examines each patient in an effort to solve the issue or concern on the patients mind. Our medical staff also looks for any other ocular abnormalities. Post examination diagnostic testing: If the patient is noted to have an ocular abnormality, such as glaucoma, a corneal problem, or macular degeneration, the technician will perform additional procedures in order to monitor the eye for stability in the future. i.e. Fundus photography, visual fields, corneal topography. |
